About this Event
The Tiny Footprints 5K brings together runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages and athletic abilities to celebrate life. Your support provides money for equipment and services for the the UMass Memorial NICU at the Children's Medical Center and for the annual Memorial Service hosted for families who experience a loss. In addition, it funds our newly established partnership with New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill where bereaved, current or former NICU families are able to visit the garden and our donated memorial bench, free of charge.
The flat course suits those taking on their first 5k, as well as competitive runners looking for a PR. It's an easy walk for those who prefer using the 5K to share the time with family and friends.
The reward for your dedicated training and preparation is an event day filled with festivities including a memorial service for families, fun run for kids, lunch/beer garden, and of course some awesome swag.
Course
The single loop 5K course starts and finishes in front of the Sullivan Academic Center at Worcester State University. The route is paved and mostly flat, with two gentle inclines, making it ideal for an early season PR.
The clockwise route is not closed to traffic, however the traffic is very light and the course is monitored by police and volunteers. There are two water stations one about half way through the 5k and a second water station is located at the finish line.
Awards
We will offer awards for top male and female in 3 age categories: age 0-18, 19-49 and 50+.
